Scratchy blues recordings on mandolin-banjo by Charlie McCoy

I’m obsessing on a blues mandolin-banjo player named Charlie McCoy. Here are three tunes of his from

Charlie McCoy and Bo Chatman – Corrina Corrina

Charlie McCoy – Baltimore Blues

Papa Charlie – Coal Man Blues (misattributed as “Jackson” instead of “McCoy”)

I got a call 5-8 years ago from MS Blues Commission to work of some of Charlie and Jo’s songs for an unveiling of a Blues Marker in Raymond,MS. I spent a good bit of time with these fellows. Since then, I’ve held them in the highest regard. I also met a fellow who said they lived with his Grandmother when they were growing up. He barely remembered them.
